‘Why during MI match?’ Fans alleged toss fixing as referee blocked cameraman’s view

There can be plenty of instances of IPL being held responsible for fixing. It is not just during the match but also over umpiring decisions and even the time of toss. This year again certain individuals have argued about the toss fixing. One such event caught the eye of viewers during the MI vs KKR match.

Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders played a match on 3rd May at the Wankhede stadium. Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, a strange incident was seen during the toss.

As soon as Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya tossed the coin, Shreyas Iyer asked for heads. When the coin fell on the ground, the match official went to the coin and said that Tails had come.

In the last few matches, it has been seen that whenever the toss took place, the cameraman showed the coin. However, this did not happen during the match being played between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders.

‘Why it happened during MI match’

Earlier cameramen never used to focus on the coin but in another match of Mumbai Indians, there were allegations that the referee turned the coin while picking it up after toss. After this incident, the camera started focusing on the coin after the toss.

Now fans are raising questions on the integrity of the toss stating why it always happens during MI matches. If the format is set to show the coin after toss then why the referee interrupted and announced the winner himself. It is a clear case of toss fixing.
