There is a wave of mourning in the entire cricket world since the information about his demise came to light. England player Josh Baker was a left arm spin bowler. He made his first-class debut for Worcestershire in July 2021. He was capped twice at England Under-19 level. During the Under-19 World Cup 2022, he was included as the team’s traveling reserve.

Josh Baker represented in 20 first-class matches
Josh Baker was a talented player of England cricket. He represented in 20 first-class matches till the end of last season, taking 39 wickets and contributing with the bat as well, scoring two half-centuries. Josh Baker took a total of 70 wickets in all three formats and scored 525 runs with the bat.

Worcestershire County Cricket Club issued a statement regarding the demise of Josh Baker. They said-
He was only 20 years old. Josh turned professional with the club from 2021 and soon became a very popular player within the team. More than his talent as a spin bowler, it was his sociability that quickly made him everyone’s favorite. His warmth and kindness were remarkable, making him a true member of our family and a beloved player on our team.
The club further said, ‘Tributes to Josh Baker will be planned in consultation with his family and will remain private at this time. The Club asks that Josh’s family respect their privacy as they mourn their immense loss. No further statement will be made during this sensitive period.
Josh Baker played a match a day before
On Wednesday, Josh Baker played a game for Worcestershire’s second XI against Somerset. He bowled brilliantly in that match and took three wickets. He was found dead by his friend who started searching for him after he didn’t show up for the game of third day. The cricket world is in shock hearing the news of his demise.
