Weakened bowling attack of CSK
These departures leave CSK’s bowling attack considerably weakened. Mustafizur’s whimsy and death bowling skills are sorely missed, though Chahar’s ability to swing the new ball becomes vital. Pathirana, with his staggering economy rate and wicket-taking ability, has become a vital cog for Chennai’s attack.
CSK need to find answers quickly to keep their playoff hopes alive. They will have to rely on their accomplished pacers and spinners to step up and fill the void. Finding replacements at this point in the IPL auction window is not an option, so the team will have to work with the resources they currently have.
