In the 47th match of the ongoing IPL 2024, the teams of Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals were face to face. The match between these two teams was played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Delhi won the toss and decided to bat first, which proved completely wrong for them. During this match, one incident of Harshit Rana captured fan’s attention.

The top order of the Delhi Capitals disintegrated in front of the excellent bowling of KKR. Delhi lost three important wickets of its top order in the powerplay itself. On the other hand, a funny incident also happened during this match.

When Harshit Rana dismissed Abhishek Porel on a cutter ball in the 7th over of Delhi’s innings, he wanted to do a flying kiss celebration after dismissing Porel, but then suddenly he stopped and did not do it.

The reason behind this was that when he had done this gesture earlier, he was fined for violating the IPL code of conduct. But when Harshit was celebrating his wicket after dismissing Porel, the video of his new gesture quickly went viral on social media.

Delhi gave Kolkata an easy target

Delhi has been able to score only 153 runs against KKR at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Spin bowler Kuldeep Yadav was the top scorer for Delhi by scoring 35* runs, followed by Prithvi Shaw (13), Jack Fraser McGurk (12), Abhishek Porel (18), Shay Hope (6). Players like Rishabh Pant (27), Axar Patel (15) and Tristan Stubbs (4) proved to be flops.

On the other hand, excellent bowling was seen from KKR in the match. Spinner Varun Chakraborty got maximum 3 wickets, while Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana took 2-2 wickets. Apart from this, Mitchell Starc and Sunil Narayan got 1 wicket each.

Kolkata chased this target in 16.3 overs

Philip Salt played a stormy innings for KKR. He scored 68 runs in 33 balls with the help of 7 fours and 5 sixes. He added 79 runs for the first wicket with Sunil Narine (10). Akshar Patel dismissed Narine in the seventh over and Salt in the ninth over. Rinku Singh (11) lost his wicket cheaply.

After this, captain Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer batted steadily. Both of them made a partnership of 57 runs for the fourth wicket and KKR returned with victory. Shreyas scored unbeaten 33 runs in 23 balls with the help of three fours and one six. Venkatesh contributed unbeaten 26 runs in 23 balls. He hit two fours and one six.
