The day started with India at 204 for 6 wickets, with Karun Nair and Washington Sundar batting. They added a few more runs before Nair was out for 57, caught leg-before-wicket by Josh Tongue. Sundar was dismissed for 26, caught at deep square leg off Tongue’s bowling. Later, Gus Atkinson got rid of Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna, finishing with five wickets. India was all out for 224 runs in 69.4 overs.
Atkinson was the star bowler for England, taking 5 wickets for 33 runs. Tongue also did well, picking up 3 wickets for 57 runs. Together, they stopped India from building big partnerships.
In England’s batting, Duckett and Crawley started strongly. They scored 92 runs together for the first wicket. Duckett made 43 before being dismissed by Akash Deep. However, Crawley kept going and was unbeaten on 52, with Pope supporting him at the other end. England reached 109 for 1, showing a solid response to India’s total.
