The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest ICC Rankings, and there are some big updates. In Test cricket, a well-known all-rounder continues to hold his No. 1 spot. At the same time, in T20 International (T20I) batting, a young Indian player has reached the top.

Abhishek Sharma: New No. 1 in T20I Batting

Abhishek Sharma, a 24-year-old Indian cricketer, is now the No. 1 batter in T20Is. He has taken the top position from Australia’s Travis Head, who was No. 1 for a year. Abhishek has 829 rating points, making him the third Indian to lead the T20I batting charts. Meanwhile, Travis Head is now second with 814 points.

This is a big moment for Abhishek in the ICC Rankings, showing his great form in T20 cricket. Also this is a big deal for Abhishek because before him only two Indian batters have achieved this feat. This puts him in the elite list with the batting greats like Virat Kohli and SuryaKumar Yadav.

Jadeja also moved up in other rankings. He is now 29th among Test batters and 14th among Test bowlers. His all-round skills keep him at the top of the ICC Rankings. Jadeja is a key player in the Indian Test setup. He will continue to play atleast till the next WTC cycle.

Other Big Changes in ICC Rankings

Washington Sundar, another Indian player, has improved in the ICC Rankings too. He scored his first Test century and made a 203-run stand with Jadeja. This lifted him eight places to 65th in the batting rankings. Plus, he moved to joint-13th among all-rounders after taking two wickets.

For England, Joe Root is still the No. 1 Test batter after scoring 150 runs in Manchester. Ben Stokes climbed to third among all-rounders with a five-wicket haul and 141 runs. Jofra Archer jumped 38 spots to 63rd among bowlers, and Chris Woakes rose to 23rd. Among England batters, Ben Duckett is now 10th, Ollie Pope is 24th, and Zak Crawley is 43rd.

The latest ICC Rankings show Indian players doing well in both T20Is and Tests. Abhishek Sharma reaching No. 1 in T20I batting is a huge achievement. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja stays strong as the top Test all-rounder. With other players from India and England also climbing up, the ICC Rankings are getting more exciting.
