Top 05 Players with Most Wickets at BRSABV Ekana Stadium in IPL

One of the most recent stadiums in the list of IPL home grounds is the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium, also known as the Ekana Cricket Stadium, which is located in Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. This ground is the home venue to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League.

This stadium has an approx. 50,000-seating capacity and was inaugurated in the year 2017. The stadium was named after the former Prime Minister of India Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2018, during a name change ceremony hosted by the BCCI. Ekana is touted as the fifth largest international cricket stadium of India. The arena had hosted five matches of the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup, although the IPL fixtures are a regular affair every season as LSG play against on their opponents on this ground. Since 2023, the Ekana Cricket Stadium has hosted 19 matches in the IPL and as part of the ongoing IPL 2025 season, two more league matches are yet to be played at this venue. So far, looking at the team performances, the venue has turned out to be a balanced one for both sides. It’s not a big target scoring venue due to a slower wicket, with most of the matches ranging between the 130 to 180 run range. Even if a team posts a par score of around 160-170, they can make a game out of it comfortably. Interestingly, on this pitch spinners are known to play a crucial role as the slow surface offers a lot of help to them. The Lucknow Super Giants have featured in all the games hosted at the Ekana ground until now. They have had an almost fifty-fifty record at their own home venue, as LSG have won nine games, lost nine matches and were a part of one match which was abandoned in IPL’s history. LSG’s former captain KL Rahul has amassed the most IPL runs on this ground, since he was associated with the franchise until last year. This year Rishabh Pant has been appointed as the skipper of LSG. In terms of the number of runs, the Kolkata Knight Riders have so far posted the highest total, 235 for 6 out of all the IPL matches played in Lucknow. The home side, LSG has registered the lowest total of 108 all-out since the first IPL match played here.
