The Indian Premier League Season 18 is going in the full flow where the best teams are competing against each other for the prestigious crown.
Several teams are trying their level best to ensure they qualify for the Playoffs spot considering the current permutations and combinations, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals whereas the likes of- Rajasthan Royals, Sun Risers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings.
“I think a lot lot of these players are not going to play Test Cricket” Pietersen said.
Pietersen said despite playing T20I format unconventional shots, are being played but when it comes to Test cricket so that same methods should be applied when it comes to play shots at tricky pitches.
He specifically pointed out the reason behind Delhi Capitals batters failing on tricky Arun Jaitley stadium pitches where he said “On wickets like we are playing in the evening (Kotla pitch which was used for DC-RCB game on Sunday) you have got to be methodical, you certainly needs to find rythem like Virat and KL did today” he said.
“That’s where you see rise of true batter who can come out there and understand what situation demand once you adapt these conditions you are all set and ready to explode at bigger stage and eventually play all kind of shots you have in your arsenal” .
He also concluded by stating that tricky pitches are good in T20I format as it allows batter and bowler both to make name for themselves and puts contest in even balance across all angles which you might want to see as neutral cricket fan.
Talking about current position on Points table, Royal Challengers Bangalore along with Mumbai Indians and Gujarat titans are currently standing at top three spot with 14, 12 and 12 points respectively.
The likes of Chennai Super Kings, Sun Risers Hyderabad looks in deep trouble with 6 and 4 points each to qualify for the playoffs.
On most IPL pitches we have seen batsman dominating the charts, player like Vaibhav Suryavanshi is perfect example to it at the age of 14 years he smashed second fastest century in IPL where he scored 100 from 35 balls trailing behind Universe Boss Chris Gayle.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi certainly holds bright future in International cricket and certain rules including the likes of- Bat Gauge changes, impact player rule have certainly titled game in favor of both batters and bowlers which makes IPL look more interesting at the moment.
IPL 2025 in its 18th edition have success story for Indian batters who have scored centuries so far and made name for themselves.
Considering the current permutations and combinations, only 10 teams looks to continue in this league in years to come however the kind of business it is generating I won’t be surprised more teams get added in this marquee event as involvement of more teams would mean, more fan engagement and massive stakeholder who will take steps in their capacity to make IPL more exciting and interesting.
BCCI should be credited for the expansion of league and the way they have uplifted the life of players who gets immediate limelight if they do well in IPL, their financial life is upgraded along with that they are also getting a chance to play for India if they possess special talent.
The best example to go by this testament is inducting Varun Chakravarthy in Indian team who did wonders in recently concluded Champions Trophy where India went on to win Marquee event by defeating Black Caps.
Catch all the gloomy and best action of IPL live on Star Sports Channel and the same will be streamed on Disney+Hotstar app where the best in the business will be up against each other.
