The Robotic Camera Dog Winning Hearts in IPL 2025

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for bringing fresh ideas to cricket, and this time, they’ve added a fun new member to their team – a robotic camera dog. This four-legged robot isn’t just a cool gadget, it’s stealing the show with its cute moves and clever camera work. Introduced in the IPL 2025 season, the robotic dog is making fans smile and giving viewers a brand-new way to enjoy matches.

The IPL shared the robotic dog’s big reveal through a video on their official X account. In the clip, popular broadcaster Danny Morrison introduced this mechanical pup to the world. He played around with it, showing off its tricks like making a heart shape with its legs and even racing it across the field. Covered in brown fur-like material and fitted with a camera where its face would be, the robot can run, jump, and record exciting footage called “pet vision.”

Moreover, the robotic dog’s camera is similar to a GoPro, which means it captures clear, action-packed videos from angles you don’t usually see on TV. It roams around the pitch, getting close to the action without getting in the way. To make things even more fun, the IPL asked fans online to suggest names for their new buddy, pulling everyone into the excitement.

Before a match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, the robotic dog got to hang out with players. MI captain Hardik Pandya looked curious about it, checking out its moves. Meanwhile, DC skipper Axar Patel seemed a bit puzzled. MI’s Reece Topley had a funny moment when the robot stood up on its back legs, startling him.

Then, during the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match on Monday, the robotic dog grabbed attention again. This time, he met CSK’s legendary captain, MS Dhoni. When the cameras zoomed in, Dhoni picked up the robot and gently placed it on the ground, making it stop moving. Fans couldn’t stop laughing at the sight of Dhoni calmly handling the high-tech pup like it was a real pet.

Furthermore, this robotic dog isn’t just about fun, it’s a big step for sports broadcasting. Cricket, along with sports like Formula 1, basketball, and football, keeps finding new ways to make watching games more exciting. With better cameras, sharper graphics, and tools like ball tracking, viewers feel closer to the action than ever before. The robotic dog’s “pet vision” adds a playful twist, letting fans see the game from fresh angles while keeping them entertained.
