In the sixth match of the tournament, feisty Kolkata Knight Riders will face the mighty Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati, on March 26, Wednesday.
Interestingly, both the franchises will play their second game tonight and aspire to seal a victory for themselves. Having lost their opening games, RR and KKR will look to outperform the other and open their account on the points table.
The thrilling encounter promises to be a clash of two dynamic teams, with Riyan Parag as the interim captain leading the Royals while Ajinkya Rahane looking to bounce as the skipper of the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders.
In their head-to-head encounters so far, KKR and RR have faced each other in 30 matches in all seasons throughout. With a neck to necktie, both teams have won 14 matches each, and 2 ending without a result.
The highest score for RR has been 224, while for KKR it has been 223. Royals had won the coveted title in the first ever season of IPL in 2008, while the Knight Riders have emerged victorious thrice in 2012, 2014 and 2024.

Sitting at the bottom of the table, Rajasthan Royals are likely to have to an edge in the high-octane match. While KKR may have the star power, but RR seems to show a solid momentum under Riyan Parag’s fearless leadership. Their top order is in form and the bowling attack knows how to choke runs and strike early.
On the other hand, KKR are still finding rhythm under Ajinkya Rahane, and their middle order looks shaky despite the big names. Unless Russell or Narine manages to pull off something outrageous, RR possibly will drift away with the win in Guwahati.
The opener match against RCB saw KKR off to a bright start, but as the middle order came to foray, they failed to capitalize on the initial momentum and could not contribute with runs on the board.
In the 2024 edition, both teams had a solid season, but having made some amendments in their teams, what does the future hold for them is something for time to ascertain. The Barsapara Cricket Stadium has hosted four matches in the IPL so far.
