The 2025 edition of the Indian Premiere League (IPL) began with an extravagant celebration and a gala opening ceremony in Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens Stadium on March 22, 2025.
With a new year and a new IPL season in tow, several cricketers have walked down the aisle and will be making a second debut of sorts, post getting married. These players will be seen with their lady lucks cheering for them and be the centre of attention this time.
Just like all other years, it is not just the on-field performances that are keeping the audiences hooked.
- Chetan Sakariya (KKR)
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opened the 2025 edition with the game as the defending champions against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya got married to Meghna Jambucha in 2024.
Chetan was roped in by KKR as a replacement for Umran Malik post his injury withdrawal. Although he was signed for INR 75 lakhs, his ability to swing the ball could make him a crucial asset for KKR.
- David Miller (Lucknow Super Giants)
The hard-hitting left-hander from South Africa got on to the marital wagon when he tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend in May last year.
This IPL season, Miller is playing as a part of the LSG squad and reportedly, the franchise has invested a whopping INR 7.8 crores in him, given his finishing abilities.
- Rashid Khan (Gujarat Titans)
One of the best and the sensational leg spinner from Afghanistan, Rashid Khan tied the knot with a close relative in 2024 October. The wedding was an intimate ceremony in his hometown Kabul.
He is allegedly one of the highest-paid players of this season, with the Gujarat Titans paying an INR 18 crores for his retention.
- Venkatesh Iyer (KKR)
Venkatesh Iyer has become synonymous as a star player in KKR after the squad’s glorious victory in IPL 2024. In June 2024, Venkatesh got hitched to his longtime girlfriend, Shruti Raghunathan.
It looks like the all-rounder’s wife has already started bringing him good luck as shortly after his wedding, Iyer’s fortunes soared when KKR went all-in for him at the auction. He is one of the highest-paid players of this season’s IPL, with KKR securing his retention in exchange for a staggering INR 23.75 crore.
- Harpreet Brar
He is the latest member of the wedding club before the IPL 2025 began. The left-arm spinner bowled the biggest maiden over of his life.
He married Molly Sandhu, who is a doctor by profession. The wedding took place in March 2025. Harpreet Brar is a part of Punjab Kings this year, was retained by them for INR 1.5 crore at the mega auction.
These phenomenal athletes have begun their second innings prior to the start of the 18th edition and are truly making their debut after marriage, as the partners of these famous players have now officially joined the Cricket WAG (Wives and Girlfriends) group.
