Based on latest development, Saudi Arabia is planning to launch their cricket league where they are planning to invest 4300 crore in the inaugural edition as many believe that it will be direct threat to IPL in terms of revenue in times to come.
Based on reports, Saudi Government is ready to Invest 4,300 crore (USD 500 Million) which can pose challenge to IPL.
Further dwelling into details, Australian Expert have been roped in to execute the plan.
The funding of these project will come from SRJ Sports Investment led by Danny Townsend.
This is not a new world for Saudi Arabia Government as they have already invested in sports like Football, Golf and Car Racing.
The new cricket league will be next juncture in their sporting ecosystem.

1. It will be 8 Team Tournament.
2. The matches will be played unlike IPL, in distinct countries in double round robin format.
3. Ultimately the final will be played in Saudi Arabia
4. The aim behind these league to make players financially empower beyond countries like India, Australia and England where top tier players are earning top notch.
5. The stakeholders are planning to develop financial stream to help players from associate nation and top tier players who can play in this league.
6. Despite its massive budget, Saudi Arabia league if comes into play will never clash with BBL and IPL schedule.
However, it will be extremely important to see whether ICC will grant permission to Saudi Arabia league only time will tell.
