Pakistan Opening Batter Fakhar Zaman, known for his ferocious batting and attacking gameplay have been ruled out of Champions Trophy 2025.
Fakhar has been ruled out due to muscular strain as he suffered in the Opening match against New Zealand.
Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed, Fakhar will remain unavailable for the Upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
The incident occurred when Zaman fell awkwardly, in the opening hour of the game against Kiwis left field.
Based on further update, PCB has approached ICC Technical Committee, for granting permission related to his replacement in form of Imam Ul Haq, however Fakhar injury is serious concern.
He was asked to report at High Performance Centre at Lahore.
In absence of Fakhar’s injury, Pakistan have suffered another nail in the coffin, it would be interesting to see how team will fare against India in the Upcoming marquee event.
Fakhar only falls in the category, of players who plays modern cricket and his absence will certainly dent Men in Green’s chances in the long run.
Pakistan lack spinners and individual match winners in their side, losing someone like Zaman, have dented their chances in the long run.
Pakistan hosted ICC Tournament after the gap of 29 years so fans expected from their team to deliver the most in home conditions but somehow they falter.
Politics and favoritism is another factor which have dismantled Men in Green Performance in International Cricket.
Either Saud Shakeel or Imam(if he is allowed by ICC Technical Committee) will open innings for Pakistan along with Babar Azam.

My Perspective:
Let’s talk about all players from Pakistan Cricket Board taking part in the Upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 predicted playing X1 .
Let’s start from top to bottom in batting order- Saud, Fakhar & Rizwan who didn’t play modern day cricket and plays defensively and they need to change their timid approach in order to prevail in the ultimate hours of the game.
Salman Ali Agha in the middle order, plays modern day cricket but in order for him to play aggressive brand of cricket, he needs support from top order.
Someone like Tayab Tahir, is not a number 6 player, but when you make someone play in position where he is not comfortable might dent Men in Green Chances in the long run.
Let’s Move towards Bowling unit- Shaheen, Naseem & Rauf have been pretty inconsistent with their line and length and the way these trio are bowling it’s clear that hardly they can’t bowl their full 10 overs quota.
There seems to fitness issues in their bowling unit.
The another reason behind Pakistan’s epic downfall and inconsistency is their inability, to develop domestic talent and selecting players on merit might have contributed big time in Pakistan’s failure.
The spin bowling department from Men in Green is another weak link, as they haven’t develop backup spinners in their arsenal and relying solely on solo specialist spinner Abrar Ahmed.
Pakistan batters approach in Modern ODI Cricket needs to be changed and they need to accelerate at the top of the order to dominate opposition batter.
